Thirteen teams with at least one UCSC student competed, and the three top winners pitched at the ensuing Santa Cruz New Tech Meetup.

1st Place, $3,000: WaterBug
water-distribution-system monitor provides real-time data to save water and energy

researches new approaches to excite 3rd through 9th graders about math and computer science
