Lemelson-MIT Prize: Each year the Lemelson-MIT program awards a $500,000 prize to a mid-career inventor who has developed at least two patented products or processes of significant value to society, which have been adopted for practical use (or have a high probability of being adopted). The program also makes Student Prize awards ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 available to undergraduate and graduate student inventors. Peer nominations for the $500,000 prize are due November 30, 2016.
Thiel Fellowship: The Thiel Fellowship awards $100,000 in grants to talented young people who want to build new things instead of sit in classrooms. Grantors select between 20 to 30 new Fellows each year, and if you're working on a project or company, you can apply here. Thiel will fly top candidates to a summit in San Francisco later this spring to learn more about what you're working on and introduce you to some of Silicon Valley's top entrepreneurs and investors. Additionally, if you're interested in summer internships with any of our fellows' companies, fill out this form, and Thiel will try to match you with an appropriate company.
